Michael Soderling, MD, MBA(International Development).

Mike served as an OB/GYN physician in a multi-specialty group in WIS for 10 years before following a calling to Central America. Working primarily in Guatemala, Dr Soderling participated in several short-term healthcare outreaches and along with Dr Erick Estrada founded Salud que Transforma. (Transformational Health) A legally established Christian faith-based ministry involved with community health and development projects. While in Guatemala Mike, his wife Chris, and several others co-founded El Refugio shelter for abused women. During his 11 years serving in Guatemala he also attended a workshop facilitated by Dr Daniel Fountain during which time he gained a strong appreciation for a much more contemporary way of thinking about and doing cross-cultural mission work. After returning to the US Mike continued under the mentorship of Dr Fountain until his death in 2013. Dr Soderling continued teaching Dr Fountains workshops at the ECHO compound in North Fort Myers, FL for several years.

At the beginning of 2014 Mike became the Director of the Health for All Nations. The Health for All Nations exists to identify gaps in the Church’s understanding of and carrying out of ministries of health, healing and wholeness (shalom) so that people within ALL nations can live lives of health and wholeness. The Health for All Nations has now developed and manages the Christian Journal for Global Health, the Best Practices in Global Health Missions initiative, the Lausanne Health in Mission Issue Network and is presently developing a course entitled “Outlook on the Christian Global Health Movement.” Mike is also passionate about good governance and about seeing local churches develop excellent whole person care centers. Dr Soderling has brought the Health for All Nations under the umbrella of William Carey International University. He is also working closely with the RDW Launch Lab at Frontier Ventures in bringing Systems Thinking/CAS into the frontiers of mission discussions and strategies.

He has been married to Chris since 1986 and they have 3 children. Ian (1989) a nuclear engineer, Taylor (1991) working as a Development Operations Engineer, and Leah (1999) who is still discovering her calling.
